we are hoping to come over to Norway in February to visit our Uncle and Aunt who live in Kristiansands.



We can get a flight to Oslo but wanted to know how easy it would be from the Airport to the train station and the quickest train to Kristiansands and how often they run, how much and if we have to book in advance or can we purchase when we arrive etc.



Its just the flights are cheaper to go to Oslo rather than Kristiansands. We hope to return to the airport from Kristiansands to, would this be the same route? how far is the airport from the train station?



Or would it be esier,quicker to hire a car and drove down?



I hope you can help us plan our trip

Hi Jason, I know there was a spitfire that was shot down near Kjevik airport (Kristiansand airport) but I dont know the exact location. My father in law has been in the woods many years ago and saw it. Am sure that there is not much of it left now though. I will do some research for you. Cheers, Adam

Do you know of any old WW2 wrecks in Kristiansand? I have heard that some planes went down over Kristiansand in the war, so would be great to visit the sites. Let me know.

If you have kids, make sure you take them to the new lekeland (playpark) at Sorlandparken. It is a great way to get energy out of the kids. I took mine there yesterday and afterwards they even went to bed early!

Thanks for your site Adam. We have now decided to go to Kristiansand instead of Oslo or Sweden next year with the kids.
Looks like there will be plenty for the kids to do and we wanted to go to a place that was more personable.

Mary - it depends on what you are after. All seasons in Kristiansand offer beauty - the snow in the winter, the rivers in the summer, the colours in the autumn.
